Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

  • To support the General Manager in developing and implementing the Bank’s Overall “Business Development Strategies”
  • Maintain a positive customer relationship, planning and delivering effective marketing strategy’s and monitoring the progress of new and existing financial products.
  • Network with appropriate professionals;
  • Maintain a high standard of discipline within the Branch and ensure that all staff are performing to expectation.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the business such as Accounting, Human Resource, Sales and Operations at the Branch.
  • Build on new technological advances in the sector and increase the visibility of online and agency banking presence of UNICS Plc in the market place.
  • Review trade area and identify new market opportunities.
  • Source, train, coach and develop staff.

Academic qualifications

  • To have at least a Master’s Degree in Management; Business Administration, or equivalent from a reputable university.

Experience required

  • To have at least three years of experience in a managerial position. Experience in a Financial Institution is an added advantage;
  • Have a valid driving license is an added advantage.
  • Flexible and resourceful

Job Ref. N°2/AC/UNICS: ACCOUNTANT at UNICS Plc

Sector: Microfinance

Profile : We need the services of an Accountant with a thorough knowledge of the Cameroon tax laws, OHADA and COBAC Accounting principles. Mastery of financial accounting and internal controls will be an added advantage.

Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgets to realizations.
  • Analyzes revenue and expenditure trends and recommends appropriate measures to control expenditure and avoid income leakage
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts with appropriate supporting documentation, general ledger monitoring, and follow up to eliminate suspense
  • Reconciliation of accounts; banks, transit accounts, inter-branch and accounting of our products.
  • Manages the need in treasury of branch and forecast daily and periodic needs
  • Ensure the safeguard of current and non current assets, to ensure traceability and security.
  • Participate in the end of period closure; month, quarter ,semester and year, and prepare timely, accurate and reliable financial reports
  • Ensures the respect of procedure for company and civil servant salary treatment and compensation.
  • Carries out the accounting control functions in the branch to prevent and detect fraud and other irregularities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • To have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting;
  • Good working knowledge in Excel and Microsoft Word;
  • A knowledge of computerized accounting;
  • Bilingual (English and French);

Job Ref. N°3/CO/UNICS: CREDIT OFFICER at UNICS Plc

Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

  • Marketing and Sales: Prospect and secure new client portfolios for the institution through marketing outreach. Be able to cross sell other products/services to enhance the customer’s experience in UNICS Plc.
  • Making Decisions and Solving Problems: Maintain an active knowledge base of all of the organization’s loan products and an understanding of the requirements needed of each client (borrower).
  • Processing/Analyzing Information (Data): Compiling, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, and/or verifying information to identify and recommend products that meets the customer’s needs and the organization’s lending guidelines.
  • Recovery and Follow up: Use legal and tactful measures to monitor, follow up and recover from customers who witnessed business failures or those of bad faith.

  • Portfolio Management: Review active and delinquent loan files each day to maintain and ensure repayment for healthy facilities, undertake and propose actions to improve delinquent cases.

  • Objective: Utilize professional judgment to determine which potential borrowers represent good risk opportunities for the organization.
  • Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting: Preparing reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually as the need may arise in a sequential and concise manner on activities, difficulties, actions and recommendations. 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Have at least three (3) years of practical experience in credit management. Experience in credit management in a Financial Institution shall be an added advantage.
  • Have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Management, Banking & Finance, Economics or Accounting.
  • Experience in Legal issues related to the management of various types of guarantees and recovery as a whole shall equally be an added advantage.

Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work in collaboration with Branch Managers and team, under the coordination of the Head of Department for Legal Affairs, Litigations and Recovery, in the proper management of the bad portfolio of the company.
  • Work in collaboration with the credit department to ensure effective credit analyses and debt collection management in line with company policies.
  • Work in collaboration with assigned branches for the follow up and production of regular data and other regular reports.
  • Work with assigned legal practitioners to initiate appropriate legal action, within the frame work of debt recovery, Litigation and other legal issues assigned to him or her.

Qualification and Skills:

  • Have at least two years of practical experience in debt recovery. Experience in a Financial Institution or debt collection department in another company shall be an added advantage.
  • Have at least a Bachelors Degree in Business Law or other equivalent professional studies in law.
  • Practical experience in the chambers of a legal practitioner (Barrister, Bailiff, and Notary Public) shall equally be an added advantage.
  • Have a good mastery of the OHADA Uniform Acts and Jurisprudence.
  • A personality that is self motivated, engaging, positive, result driven and posses the maturity and personality to command respect.
  • Have the ability to negotiate and to design agreements for amicable settlements.
